UTAG Harmoniously Concur Their Strike Action Slated For Thursday 13th October

A report hitting us concluded that UTAG STRIKE action is still active to hit action this Thursday, 13th October, 2022.

The NEC of UTAG met this evening (11th October 2022) to consider the resolutions from the various public universities on the proposed Joint Industrial Action to commence on 13th  October 2022.

All the 15 (fifteen) public universities supported the strike. Two universities however pleaded to be allowed to write their end of sem and complete their respective academic calendars. But this agenda was rejected.

All activities are to be withdrawn with the exception of essential services like security services, medical services, payroll services, and the running of basic schools.

The strike is to be sustained until government rescinds its decision that varied the conditions of service of labor without prior engagement and consultations.

According to the outcome of the meeting they Conclusively agreed to foreseen engagements that may ensue during the strike, all unresolved issues such as the review of the Single Spine Salary Structure, the way forward after the end of the OTS regime in December 2022 and the implementation of the 2019 Labor Market Survey Report, must all feature and dominate discussions.

Please be updated accordingly.

Thank you and good night
