World new marathon record by a Kenyan old man

 






In Sunday's Berlin marathon, Kenyan Eliud Kipchoge, a two-time Olympic champion, broke his own personal best and established a new world record.




He cut 30 seconds off his previous best time, finishing in under two hours, one minute, and nine seconds, and declared after the race that he was in it to win.



"I had intended to run the 60.50 and 60.40, but since my legs were moving so quickly, I decided to attempt running two hours straight instead. Overall, though, I'm pleased with the performance "He spoke



After finishing the first half of the marathon in 59 minutes, 51 seconds, the 37-year-old Kenyan from Nandi County sparked rumors that he would be the first person to break the record.
