Shocking: Three UEW students and a lecturer perished in an accident...

  Just hit : About three UEW students and a lecturer confirmed dead in road accident Three persons have died after a school bus with University of Education, Winneba (UEW) written on it, carrying students veered off the road, running into a valley at Apirede in the Okere District of the Eastern Region. The accident occurred on Friday September 9, 2022.Some 28 other persons sustained various degrees of life-threatening injuries. Some of them have been sent to the Eastern Regional Hospital. Some of the victims are currently receiving care at the Yilo Krobo District Hospital.The Hospital Administrator Belinda Kafui Mawutor, confirmed the incident. The students were embarking on an educational tour to Mountain Afadjato in the Volta Region when the unfortunate incident at Apirede. It is confirmed that the students are UEW students. A 14-year-old candidate taking the 2022 Basic Education certification Examination BECE  in Barekese, Atwima Nwabiagya North District, was forced to deec@te at one of the exam centers. A student at an illegal D/A middle school, the boy was reportedly denied an earlier call to his supervisor to address a call of nature during an exam. The boy who couldn't stand it cut the exam in the middle. In an exclusive interview with OTEC News, Kwame Agenim, chairman of the Rockson Ntiamoah Fohuo Constituency Commission, confirmed the incident and said he was concerned. They accused her Barekese High School tutor, who was a member of the center's supervisory board, of refusing to let the boy out over claims the candidate might bring foreign objects into the testing center. "His request to heed the call of nature was denied by one of the Barekese SHS teachers who was also this year's BECE tutor at the exam centre."
